The Sculk Trap is a naturally-generating trap block found in the Deep Dark. It looks identical to regular Sculk blocks but activates when a player or mob steps on it.
Obtaining
Sculk Traps cannot be crafted and can only be obtained by mining them with Silk Touch. They generate naturally in the Deep Dark.
Info
Sculk Traps are visually identical to regular Sculk blocks. The only way to tell them apart is by using a Sculk Radar, which highlights traps with a red particle outline.
Generation
Sculk Traps generate:
- In clusters of 1–3 blocks
- Usually near Sculk Shriekers
- At the edges of Sculk patches
Behavior
When stepped on by a player or mob:
- The block emits a burst of Sculk particles
- 2–4 Sculk Mites spawn around the trap
- The trap block is consumed (destroyed)
- Nearby Sculk Sensors are triggered
Danger
Sculk Traps can chain-react with Sculk Sensors, potentially triggering the Warden! Always carry Soft Sculk Boots in the Deep Dark.
