Modified Vanilla Mobs
Modified Vanilla Mobs
Bunch o' Sculk modifies several vanilla Minecraft mobs to integrate them with the addon's sculk mechanics. These are not new mobs — they are enhanced versions of existing creatures.
Warden
The vanilla Warden has been modified to integrate with the sculk family system.
Changes from Vanilla
| Stat | Vanilla | Bunch o' Sculk |
|---|---|---|
| Health | 500 (250 hearts) | 500 (unchanged) |
| Melee Damage | 30 (15 hearts) | 30 (unchanged) |
| Sonic Boom | 10 damage | 10 damage (unchanged) |
| Family | warden, monster | warden, monster, sculk |
The key change is that the Warden now belongs to the sculk family, meaning:
- Sculk mobs will not attack the Warden
- The Warden will not target sculk mobs
- They coexist in the Deep Dark as a unified threat
Warden Abilities (Reference)
- Vibration Listener — Detects player movement and sounds
- Anger System — 0-150 anger with thresholds at 40 (angry) and 80 (very angry)
- Sonic Boom — 15-block ranged attack with 2.5x knockback
- Darkness Aura — Applies Darkness effect to nearby players
- Dig/Emerge — Can burrow underground and emerge dramatically
Double Threat
In Bunch o' Sculk, fighting sculk mobs near a Warden is especially dangerous since the Warden won't help you by attacking other sculk creatures. They're all on the same team.
Witch
The vanilla Witch has been modified with a transformation mechanic.
Sculkling Witch Transformation
Witches can be transformed into Sculkling Witches through two methods:
- Using a Sculk Essence Flask — Interact with a Witch while holding the flask to trigger the conversion
- Sculkling Witch attack — If a Stage 3 Sculkling Witch kills a vanilla Witch, the vanilla Witch transforms into a new Sculkling Witch
Info
The Witch retains all of its vanilla potion-throwing behavior (Harming, Slowness, Poison, Weakness) and self-healing abilities. The transformation mechanic is an addition, not a replacement.
Witch Potion Arsenal (Reference)
- Splash Harming — Default ranged attack
- Splash Slowness — Used on distant targets (8+ blocks)
- Splash Poison — Used on healthy targets
- Splash Weakness — Used on close targets (3 blocks)
- Self-healing — Drinks Water Breathing, Fire Resistance, Healing, and Swiftness potions as needed
